Replace the outdated legacy system that limits the organization's ability to deliver personalized professional development content with a modern member management solution, enabling members to tailor their own learning experiences.

HRNZ, also known as Human Resources New Zealand, is an organization committed to lifting the professional status of HR practitioners across the country. However, the organization faced several challenges in its system:
Limited Member Insights: HRNZ lacked sufficient information about its members due to information sitting in different systems or spreadsheets, making it difficult to tailor services to their specific needs.
Inadequate Technology for Professional Development: Their existing systems did not support a structured professional development journey for members.
Complex Event Registration: The registration process for courses and events was not seamless, creating barriers for members looking to participate.
Disconnected Systems: HRNZ relied on multiple standalone platforms—Eventbrite, Mailchimp, SuiteCRM, and Xero—which were not integrated, leading to manual data entry and inefficiencies.
These challenges highlighted the need for a more streamlined and integrated approach to member engagement and service delivery.
Solution
HRNZ partnered with Ocular for CMS implementation and Magnetism for Dynamics 365 integration, creating a seamless digital experience for their members.
Using Power Pages, Magnetism built a personalized, user-friendly website where members can log in to update their information. Any data entered is automatically saved to HRNZ’s CRM, ensuring accuracy and eliminating manual data entry.

The improved website also streamlined event registration, making it easier for members to sign up for courses and events. With a dedicated dashboard, members can now view their details, track their registrations, and manage their engagement with HRNZ.
Additionally, HRNZ can customize fields within the CRM, ensuring flexibility to meet evolving needs. The CRM is also fully integrated with Xero, enabling efficient financial management and further reducing administrative workload.
The project was completed in two phases: Phase One focused on the members' website, while Phase Two involved the organization's portal. This phased approach allowed for a transition period, giving the back-office staff time to adapt—particularly to the CRM and its new workflows—while also ensuring that all integrations functioned correctly.
Results
Through the partnership with Ocular and Magnetism, HRNZ successfully transformed its digital ecosystem by integrating its website, Dynamics 365, and Xero. This led to several key improvements:
